How to buy serval or caracal kitten successfully!

Something about us and why to choose us

The unique hobby breeding Supercats Blondie came into existence in 2018. We are a small family cattery in Prague, which was not founded for the purpose of profit, but because of a dream that came true thanks to felines and their breeding. Now YOU can experience it too. We meet all legal requirements, as well as are considered to be an approved animal breeding facility CITES II.

We give the profits from selling the kittens back into the cattery so that our breeding, our furry spotted “children” live the best life. The best possible food, entertainment, improvement of outdoor enclosures, as well as the necessary professional veterinary care, which is twice as necessary for mothers and their kittens.

We required the cats to be in the house with us the most. They move and live with us. Of course, there is a space only for them in the house - rooms equipped with entertainment, and rooms especially for females, that serve as a delivery ward and rooms with kittens.

All cubs, whether caracal or serval, is a challenge that will change your life.

And to make the beginning as easy as possible, the kittens will be healthy, tested, and without genetic defects. Sociable and with great conditions to be a wonderful new member of the family or breeding. We guarantee that! How? By a contract. By investing in a quality serval cub, you will save your wallet in the future, as well as the nerves linked to future veterinary expenses in the case of an unhealthy cub, which often ends in death.

Our relationship does not simply end with a purchase, you will receive a free lifelong consultancy on serval or caracal breeding from us. We draw up an individual manual for each kitten and give a starter kit. Over the course of five years, we have gathered a lot of experience - both from foreign language books and discussions, as well as from the exchange of knowledge with our friendly catteries in the world. Unfortunately, and luckily, we have also gained experience from personal practice, and thus, we can deal with anything. In addition, we have been constantly educating ourselves in breeding. We will be happy to recommend a veterinarian near you (Czech Republic).

We will help with the legislation to own a serval legally. There is no need to be afraid of an exotic animal.

We can bring kittens anywhere in the EU, to third countries by previous agreement. They have all valid documents, CITES registration, passport and chip.

Price

The price is discussed individually, although it is set and can vary in exceptional cases.

A quality serval is not cheap, but it lives for 15-20 years, and you don’t have to open a saving account for him just like it is done with children. :D Saving is not worth it, as it can potentially reflect in the subsequent necessary veterinary care, not to mention incalculable stress and fear for the animal’s life. Over the course of five years, we have heard and seen enough sad stories. Especially genetic defects may not become evident immediately but rather after the first year of the animal’s life. Do not risk.

How to proceed if you are interested in a kitten?

Feel free to contact us. We will be happy to call you, or arrange a personal meeting or a video call, all according to your needs.

To reserve a kitten, it is necessary to pay a deposit of 10 %. After crediting the deposit to our account, we consider the reservation as binding, and we no longer offer the kitten. The rest of the money for the kitten will be paid the same day the kitten is handed over with its documents. It will leave for his new home that day.

Taking care of serval

It is not as complicated as it seems. You don’t have to worry about the complexity of care; on the contrary, you will be pleasantly surprised. Just follow a few basic tips from us.

Given the law (in the Czech Republic and Slovakia), it is not necessary to have an outdoor enclosure for breeding approval. It is not legally possible to have a serval in a classic flat. We will help you with the legislation and construction of the enclosure or arrange it.

Our servals belong to less massive and very well genetically equipped cats. Females weigh 10-12 kg, and males weigh around 14-16, so you don’t have to be afraid of high-tonnage cats, that eat everything they see, but you can expect beautiful and perfect athletic bodies that the offspring will inherit. Serval is easy to tame and can be a loving companion that is clean, knows how to use the cat toilet and walk on a leash. It is a great compromise between a dog and a cat. From the beginning, just like with any animal in adolescence, it is necessary to pay him more attention, build a relationship and teach it. By investing time and effort in the developing age, you will later reap the benefits of a great personality as an adult.

With each kitten going to a new family, we will add a tailored “manual” containing all the know-how. We will e happy to discuss any detail within our lifetime support.

A GOOD DECALOGUE „how to buy a serval correctly“

  1. The credibility of the cattery’s web pages - Facebook, website, and Instagram.

How long have they been posting, or is the profile older? Is it active? Do you recognize the same animals in multiple photos (stealing photos is common with swindlers)? Does it have videos? Does the breeder show himself up? Is there the cattery’s address, or are there reviews from buyers? Is the breeder interested in you and the conditions for his kitten with the new owner?

8x YES is correct.

Beware of fictitious sellers - scammers who misuse photos and have suspicious but attractive prices. They will extract a financial deposit from you, but you will see neither the money nor the promised animal. Making a deposit is the standard procedure when reserving a kitten.

  1. The breeder communicates and offers you a video call - he will show you his breeding, animals.

How much information does the seller give you when selling a kitten? Does he butter you up? Does he slander the others and tell you, that you can get the same for half the price? HAHA, barely!

  1. He will invite you to visit his cattery, where you can look at animals without any obligation.
  2. Suspiciously low price - the price below 100,000 CZK is fishy.

It is not possible to pay taxes and do quality breeding with such a price for kittens; these are usually kitten farms, and you support breeding that borders on torture. See “PRICE”

  1. It is better to buy an animal locally than from abroad, and thus you eliminate the risk of deception.
  2. Quality breeders offer a contract and contractual guarantee for a kitten (up to 1-2 years of life for genetic defects) and lifelong consultancy.
  3. The breeder’s animals look healthy, happy, sociable and have decent living conditions.
  4. Help from the breeder with permission and registration of the animal with the authorities for legal possession.
  5. The animal must have all documents - chip, passport, regular contract, and CITES registration certificate (when sold in the Czech Republic).

The breeder will show you where the chip is located on your kitten and its number by using a reader. The chip number matches the information in the documents of the kitten.

  1. The kitten is vaccinated, which is recorded in the passport (a serval is vaccinated a little later than a common cat, the first dose 9-10 weeks old, the second dose 13-14 weeks old).
